What We’re Eating this Week…..

Definitely eating at home!  I headed to Sams on Sunday and then hit HEB on Monday and we have enough food to hold up at home for a few weeks if necessary.  I love traveling around watching baseball but eating out gets old after awhile and I am needing some good home cooking and some healthy meals.
Sunday – Hamburger steak with green beans and roasted potatoes
Monday – Roast popped in the crockpot to cook all day and served with mashed potatoes and broccoli
Tuesday – Not so healthy but oh so yummy!  Keith fried the fish he caught on Father’s Day and I roasted some potatoes to go along with it.  I intended to make a salad but this fish was so darn good it was a meal in itself.
Wednesday will be leftovers and Thursday I will be making this lasagna recipe.

What I’m Reminiscing About…..

My dad….with Father’s Day this past weekend I’ve been thinking about him a lot.  It was near Father’s Day 11 years ago when he was diagnosed with cancer and we spent a short 3 months watching him fight before losing his short battle.  He was not the kind of dad you see on TV…he was gone working in another state most of my childhood and I know he had some regrets in the end.  He could be hard and a little too honest but always, always I knew how much he loved me.  I know he would have been super proud to see all that has happened in my life.

What I’m Loving…..

Having Riley home even if only for a week.  When your babies leave home it’s weird….sometimes a little sad but you know that it is a necessary part of life.  My goal has always been to make them a little more independent every year so they can leave my nest and be successful.  I still love for both my Bigs to come back home and let me cook for them and wait on them a little and hear them call me  Momma or Mom.  When we are all together my heart feels complete!

What I’ve Been Up To…..

If you have been around here at all you already know I’ve pretty much lived, breathed and dreamed baseball for the past 5 months.  We spent last week on a road trip to Omaha, Nebraska to watch the TCU Horned Frogs play in the College World Series.  You can read a little more some of the fun we had in this post and catch up a little more here.  The Frogs won 2 and lost 2 which is one stronger than last year.  I’m pretty sure they left it all on the field and we were all so proud of this team.

What I’m Dreading…..

Going back to the gym!  The past month has been crazy and I missed more workouts than I made.  It is always so hard to get back on a routine even though I know I will feel so much better once I do.  Tuesday was my first day back in a long time and it was brutal!

What I’m Working On…..

A new link up celebrating women!  Katy and I are hoping to have a monthly linkup ready to roll out on the 2nd Tuesday in July.  We will be looking to honor women in the blogging community as well as any other woman who has inspired us.  More to come soon!

What I’m Excited About…..

Katy at The Queen of the Kings and her friend Cindy put together a great group of ladies and they are leading us through the Seamless bible study by Angie Smith.  I have not been able to make the first two studies but have been following along and getting information out of the Bible like never before.  I’m so excited to know I will finally get to meet all the ladies in our group at the next get together.  If you have a chance to participate in this study I would highly recommend it.

What I’m Watching/Reading…..

Even though the Frogs are done I’m still watching the College World Series!  Love to see these boys battle it out on the diamond.  Go Vandy!
I’m working on finishing up Bossypants by Tina Fey and will do a full review once I’ve completed.

What I’m Listening To…..

Coughing….I have been listening for almost 3 weeks to Carly coughing and really thought it was just allergies as she had no other symptoms.  I finally took here to the doctor on Monday and the poor girl has bronchitis.  Mom of the year over here!

What I’m Wearing…..

Loving these floral Dolce Vita Wedges!  I had them in my Nordstrom cart forever and finally took the plunge when my size was the only one left.  They then sat in the box for several weeks as I tried to decide and all I can say is what the heck took me so long.   I picked up this fun orange pendant necklace from a local boutique, Witts End, yesterday and will be pairing with this navy top for a special day on Friday.  Any guesses by the colors what that might be???

What I’m Doing This Weekend…..

This weekend we will get a break from baseball as we cheer on Dillon’s 7 on 7 football team at the state tourney!  It will be a hot one here in Texas so there will be plenty of hydrating and maybe some time at the pool after they are done playing.

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month…..

Long summer nights and weekends with no agenda.  I’m not saying we won’t fill up some weekends with fun and maybe even some short little getaways but knowing there is no set agenda and we could just choose to sit at home and do a few little projects or be lazy all weekend makes me want to jump for joy.  My Littles will head to camp the last week of July and it is their very favorite part of summer.

What Else is New…..

One of my very favorite days is the day I get to see my adorable hair stylist!  Because of the crazy baseball schedule I had to cancel my appointment 3 weeks ago and finally was able to get in today.  My roots were ridiculous and I feel like a new person after a few hours with her this week.  I don’t know about you but good hair is a day changer for me.

Bonus:  What I’m Doing for July 4th…..

We haven’t made any definite plans for July 4th but I did finally pull my {decorations} out this week. Keith’s Uncle & Aunt always host a July 4th party in the country and they have a great pond for fishing and there are lots of cousins to play with so it is almost always a great time.  We typically follow that by stopping to watch the fireworks at the George Bush Library with friends.  With the 4th falling on a weekend we may head down to my hometown and take a day to drive down to the coast for some fishing instead.  One thing for sure we will have some good food and watermelon is always a must!
Here we are last year celebrating in my hometown!
Have a super day!  And be sure to visit my contact page to see all the fun parties I’m linking up with.
