Another What I Wore Wednesday and another week of layers! I posted on Monday about must have layers to survive the fall and winter seasons in Texas and as you can see I practice what I preach.
No doubt you have figured out I’m a sucker for my military jacket and I have come to love the blanket scarf. This was a perfect outfit to change into after work for an evening out of the house. My friend at Burlap and Pearls has this cute military jacket in stock right now and I’m telling you every closet needs one! If you haven’t tried these Toms booties yet they are also one of my very favorite pairs of shoes.
I really never thought I had a great need for rain boots but since talking my mom into buying these for my birthday I have found myself wearing them every chance I get. Not sure I can really pull off the leopard and plaid but I made an attempt. I am loving this plaid shirt from Old Navy and you will see it is a repeat offender this week. It is still in stock along with other patterns, marked down and an extra 30% off. I know when I purchased I only paid $13 so my price per wear already is almost zero (girl math…don’t shop without it).
This fur vest has been around for a few years but I have already worn it more this season than I probably have the entire time I’ve owned it thanks to some ideas from fellow bloggers. I’m loving the way it stands out with the purple. Wearing my Sam Edelman moto boots again as well which you can find here. I wasn’t really sure about how much I would wear these either and boy was I wrong.
What I’m also noticing is I had lots of bad hair days this past week! Dry shampoo has become my friend and if I can get by with a pony tail on day 3 with no washing so be it. The day after Thanksgiving I needed nothing more than my stretchy pants and boyfriend cardigan to make my day complete. I bought this scarf last year on sale at Nordstrom around Christmas and they sold out quickly. Here is this years version in several colors. It is so soft and I love all the colors.
Back to warm and windy and I paired my polka dot shirt with a pink cardigan. I absolutely love when I pair something for the first time and love it as much as I loved this! My cardigan is from J. Crew Factory and you can find it in several colors here.
Back to the plaid shirt that was also highlighted in my layers post here. This is another example of a matchup I instantly loved. I paired with a pencil skirt and a red jacket purchased from White House Black Market several years back and added leopard heels. It was like 68 degrees and mugee when I left my house and a short hour later it was 40 with 20 mph winds (may or may not be an exaggeration) so on my lunch hour I swapped the heels for my tall boots. I typically have a hard time finding skirts due to my hips being a little too wide for the size my waist needs but this one from Loft was a winner! I am going to be watching the sales and see about ordering in another color. I haven’t worn skirts in awhile but I’m kind of into them right now.
After work the grocery store was a must so I traded the skirt for some jeans and replaced the necklace with a scarf. My hair also had to be retired for the week so my Yankees hat was necessary. I popped on this red coat, also from Old Navy and also on sale, and was good to go.
Back to chilly but no wind and I was content to wear this cute striped dress, my military jacket and the ever so popular Zara blanket scarf. I loved this look so much and it will find it’s way together again!
Another day another skirt! I purchased this sweater and this skirt from J. Crew Factory. I love both and they have had great sales lately. I never shopped J. Crew Factory until this past year and I have to say I have been impressed with the quality of everything I’ve purchased. See all the super cute sweaters here.
