What I Wore – Vacation Capsule

What I Wore - Vacation Capsule

I’ve already shared all the fun we had visiting Scottsdale, Arizona but I thought I would share a little “what I wore” post too.  Packing in a carry on is a plus for us so with that goal in mind I set out to create a few looks to easily mix and match. I knew the days would be warm but the evenings could cool off a bit and we would be outdoors for baseball games several nights.  Packing only one jacket was a must to save space and once I decided on my favorite field jacket the rest of the items came together fairly easily.

Here is a complete list:

Pants:  jeans in both denim and black, utility pants

Dress:  black & white striped t-shirt dress;  black bodycon dress, jumpsuit

Tops:  camo cold shoulder, orange ruffle sleeve top,  casual black top, off the shoulder top

Activewear:  2 pair workout leggings, 2 t-shirts, 2 sports bras

Extras:  field jacket, scarf

Swimsuit:  La Blanca halter one piece (seriously flattering one-piece!)

Shoes:  heeled booties, flat booties, running shoes

We headed to dinner on our first night out and this romper I borrowed from Jordan was perfect!   She received in a Stitch Fix and I was totally in love with the fabric and the fit when I saw her wear it for her birthday.  Layering with the field jacket created the perfect look for a casual dinner at North Italia.  Jumpsuits like this are iffy for me because I am so short waisted but this one has elastic in the waist so it was easy to adjust to jut the right spot.  Loving a few others I found at Anthropologie and Target.

This may have been my favorite outfit to pull together while we were traveling!  I actually wore this out to lunch and to a ballgame and it also worked perfectly topped with my field jacket if needed.  I have a feeling you guys are going to be sick of seeing this scarf as it is so lightweight and works well for our climate.

I’m still so in love with these utility pants and kicking myself for not ordering in the camo print when they were still stocked in my size.  I’ve had multiple colors of this top over the years and it is just such an easy one to dress up or down or to layer.  Obviously you will also get tired of these Vince Camuto booties unless I wear them out before the season is over!

I have gone back and forth over the years on camo and whether or not I can pull it off away from the deer lease.  This top makes it super easy!  It is so cute and I love the fit.  I did pick up a large because the medium was not stocked at the time and I’m sometimes in between but I really think I could have worn the medium.  These jeans were a splurge during the anniversary sale and have definitely been a price per wear purchase as they are super flattering.  Bonus they almost pass as dress pants for work so I have stretched the casual look a few times!

This was actually my travel outfit on the way home but I swapped the heeled booties for these flat booties and they are so comfy!

Outfit Five

To be honest this is really how I was dressed for most of the day two days of our trip!   I packed Zella leggings which I love!  Side note, this Texas Forever shirt is so soft and proceeds for September raised $2.5M for hurricane recovery!

Someday I’m going to become even more efficient when packing!  It is always harder for me when I’m not confident about the temperature.  I could have gotten by with shorts on this trip but it felt weird to pack shorts in October, ha!  At the end of the day I could have skipped bringing the dresses for sure and a couple of tops and still had plenty to wear.
