The Queen’s Chronicles

Big week around here!  We celebrated three birthdays, watched some football and spent some times with our besties.

And FINALLY, y’all fall arrived in Texas!  Of course not this day.  On Monday it was still hitting 90 and totally humid but I was determined to wear this fall plaid.

Riley was going to his dad’s for dinner on Monday night but he was giving me a hard time about wanting to take this picture which doesn’t exactly reflect me as the “perfect” mom.  He’s drinking a tallboy and Dillon is eating cereal.

But y’all, it was totally their loss!!  Because this was our dinner!!  I love grilling pork loin and for some reason green beans have been my favorite lately.

I was going through some pictures reminiscing over Riley’s life and found this picture!  Oh how life was about to change for us.  I remember wondering how I could possibly love another child as much as I loved Jordan.

Of course this one made sure from day one he would not be ignored.  I so love this picture!  He was such a stinker!

So you can read all about Riley’s turning 23.  I posted this picture, one I find so handsome, to instagram with some sweet little message but instantly received a message from him instructing me to take it down immediately because “mom, I am not a model”. He proceeded to send me an appropriate picture to post.
He’s a pill!  Such a pill.
Tuesday, I spent my lunch hour with my hairdresser for a much over due cut and color.  It’s hard to tell in this picture but she darkened up my hair quite a bit.

Finally my big day and my mom and Riley met me for lunch at one of my fave restaurants.

Dinner to celebrate the October (6th, 18th, 19th, 20th) birthdays at one of our fave restaurants.
My mom and I shared this margherita pizza and it was so good.  I love pizza!
Thursday night we headed to watch football and snuggle a little after we finally had some cooler air blow through.
These two have very similar personalities.  He was so excited to see his big sis after the game.
Friday I finally got my momma all to myself for lunch before she headed back home!
Later that evening I grabbed this guy and finally headed for a long over due date night.  I’ve been wanting to restaurant hop for awhile now so that is exactly what we did.
We started with some boiled shrimp and oysters at the restaurant we frequented often while we were dating.

We decided to try a new place for our entree and headed for Master Yakiniku where you choose your protein and cook it yourself at the little hibachi at the table.  Of course we both decided it would have been more fun with a flame!

We ended the night sharing a strawberry tart for dessert at Cafe Eccell.

Saturday the boys headed bird hunting and had Holly not called and drug me off to a little market being hosted nearby I may not have gotten out of bed.  I successfully watched 16 episodes of Gilmore Girls this weekend!!
Love these kids so much!  It’s just different with the people who have known you since day one. Perfect way to start a beautiful Sunday with a little worship and lunch with friends.
My man cooked up dinner on Sunday night and I am now off dinner duty for at least one more night.  Bacon wrapped dove, pork chops and grilled chicken….yum.
I added some roasted potatoes and broccoli along with a little chopped salad and we were all full and happy!
I ended my weekend realizing not only had my friend Katy dropped off a jacket I left at her house but she also left me a birthday gift!  Seriously, this totally described my weekend!  I love it.

Hope you all had a super weekend and wishing you an awesome week!

Katy and I will be hosting Spiel the Beans on Tuesday so head on over and linkup sharing a favorite haunted tale or the scariest thing you’ve ever done!
