The Queen’s Chronicles – Packed Weekend

Fall use to be our down time but now that we are Friday Night Lights people things have changed! The Queen’s Chronicles is my favorite way to document what is going on around here as a bit of a scrapbook for our family. Here are a few picks from our packed weekend.

Dillon made a change and moved to San Jacinto College this year. So far he is loving his team, his roomate and hopefully classes. :). Because JUCO players are typically recruited during the fall, he has games pretty much every weekend through October. We were able to head over and see him pitch a couple of innings and I love seeing this big smile on his face!

We celebrated Keith’s dad turning 72 with some barbeque and a visit. This was the first time I had seen his dad in probably 6 months and could hardly believe how much weight he had put on and how well he was getting around. He has been battling cancer for a few years and a treatment plan last fall had him pretty much bed bound or in a wheelchair until he finally decided it was enough and stopped his treatment in February. While the doctors are still considering him terminal, I’d say this is much better living than what he was doing and we are so thankful he was able to make that call for himself.

We sure are loving seeing our girl perform on the field under the Friday Night Lights! She seems to be having a blast too. These girls work so hard every week perfecting their performances. We are really lucky to have a sister of one of the strutters who takes a bazilion pics each game so we can just sit back and enjoy!

Our homecoming is not until October 16th, but Carly’s bestie attends the rival high school and asked Carly Jo to come be her “date”. Based on all the photos before and after I’d say they had a blast. Dancing, Whataburger and sleepovers……what’s not to love! Of course she bought this dress for her own homecoming and I’m guessing we will be out dress shopping for another soon.

Mom

I headed to spend some time with my mom over the weekend and we had a really nice visit. This disease is really crazy and you just never know what might be thrown at you but this weekend she was joyful and happy to see me. I took her to a Sugarland Skeeters game and she was able to see Haisley and Riley did come in to pitch an inning which made her so happy. The highlight…..she got to hug her grandson after the game and she could not quit talking about it!

We have a BIG birthday coming up on Wednesday and I can barely believe my sweet baby girl is turning 16!! I can’t wait to share her sweet 16 pics with you.

Hope you all have a great week!
