The Queen’s Chronicles – HOCO 2020

·

This weekend was homecoming and Carly’s first “date”. Our high school typically hosts a semi-formal dance on the Saturday after the homecoming game but this year HOCO 2020 was a little different. While the kids still chose to dress up, the setting was an outdoor venue. The kids had to reserve a table ahead of time for up to 6. Food trucks were brought in and there was live entertainment and games but no dancing and of course masks were required.

Carly’s dates name is Grant and this was how he asked her to go to the HOCO with him. Clever! Disney always makes a great ask.

The kids trade mums on Thursday night and wear them to school on Friday. Believe me here in Texas these can get pretty big but Carly was happy to only have to drag around a single mum around her neck.

We found Carly’s dress, as well as her shoes and accessories, from one of our favorite local boutiques. Before she tried it on we didn’t really realize red was her color but it so is! I thought it was very freshman appropriate and looked darling on her.

Carly and Grant paired up with two other couples and headed to Saltgrass for dinner before the event. I have to say I was impressed she handled the heels so well.

These three have been a steady crew since this pandemic started and they all came to our house to get ready. I love that these girls just walk right into my house without knocking and make theirselves at home.

My daughter, Jordan, came to fix Carly’s hair and makeup and there was alot of teen music and laughing going on.

So excited they were able to have a semi-normal event to celebrate HOCO 2020! Loved seeing them all dressed up for a change.
