The Queen’s Chronicles – All Hearts

It was a fairly lazy weekend around our house that included babysitting our favorite girl, a date night, an impromptu slumber party and our weekly Sunday supper. This weeks Queen’s Chronicles is mostly all hearts!

Last Tuesday after I arrived home from my moms, Dillon called to let me know he received a positive covid test and was heading home from Houston where he had been back at school. We feel very positive Dillon had covid in November at the same time I did but he did not test for it at that time so we have no official confirmation. He has had zero symptoms so I really think it was either a false positive or a case of the test not being able to identify live versus dead virus. School starts today so I guess one blessing is he is still in all virtual mode and won’t miss anything!

The most exciting thing from our week was this girl getting her learners permit! Seriously even after doing this 3 times before I was so nervous worrying about weather or not I did all the paperwork right. My kids do not like when I get saucy with the people at the DMV so thankfully I had my crap together and we were in and out! Now the real fun begins…..and we will definitely be starting in a parking lot!

All Heart #sweater #amazonfashion

I have had this sweater since last winter but haven’t worn it much. It’s a great lightweight sweater for our warmer temps here and I love how this look came together on Saturday! I’m so guilty about not wearing pieces I love often enough so I’m going to try and dress this one for work this week too. Speaking of hearts, have you seen the new heart line from Kindra Scott? Seriously wishing I could find a way to drag Dillon to the store so I could use his 50% off birthday discount!

I also pulled out my Valentines decor to try and liven up the house a little. It’s been a little bare since I took down Christmas. I found new placemats at Homegoods but they only had 4 of the pattern I loved so I also grabbed 4 in an alternate pattern to use along with them. Not 100% sold but it will have to work.

Sunday Supper #potatobar

Having dinner on Sunday evenings has become one of my favorite things. This week I decided to do a baked potato bar. This was so easy and didn’t require me to spend hours in the kitchen.

For the potatoes, I set the oven to 450 degrees, poked the potatoes with a fork a few times and baked for 20 minutes. I then brushed the potatoes with butter and added a little salt before baking for another 20 minutes. Oven baked potatoes are the best and I loved the crispier skin.

Stuffed Baked Potato

For the pulled pork I used this instant pot pulled pork recipe and it was so easy and delicious. I stuffed my baked potato with the pulled pork while some decided to eat the pulled pork on a bun with pickles instead.

I hope this sweet little clip works so y’all can see our darling girl! She is loving this new life of eating table food and we think she is going to be a foodie like most of the rest of us! You’ll just have to excuse her dorky Honey haha.

Brownie Sundae

Box brownies are always a quick and easy win especially topped with vanilla ice cream and festive sprinkles!

This week my daughter-in-law brought a new game, Phase 10, to try and it took us a minute to get the hang of it but once we did it was fun. If you have older kids I think this is a win.

We have a routine week ahead which you will not hear me complaining about! I’ve got some of my fave homecooked meals planned and if I can get it together I’ll share those as part of What’s Up Wednesday later this week.

Hope you have a great week!
