Royally Waiting (Link-up #14) – Memorial Day Weekend

Welcome to the Royally Waiting link-up where Holly, Katy and I invite you to share what your waiting on this week!

We are anxiously waiting on the last of school!  The last week is always a little nuts with high school finals and schedules not the same.  Lunch accounts are empty and we are all just ready to be D-O-N-E.  We actually have two weeks “off” before events kick back off and we are planning to have some fun.

I love ending school just before Memorial Day weekend.  Since Keith & I both have Memorial Day off, this gives us a chance to kick off summer spending some QT with the kids.  This year we are heading to the coast for a little R&R, fishing and of course some Corpus Christi Hooks baseball.  I found a house just 2 miles from the beach and 3 miles from Schlitterbahn so we may do it all or we may sit on the deck and watch the sunrise and be lazy.  So, so, so looking forward to it!

Visiting

I headed to Frisco last weekend and spend some time catching up with my college bud Lisa.  I slept until 10 and had zero agenda other than heading to watch baseball each night.  It was amazing!  Sometimes I just need to get away from my entire family and recharge a little and this really was a nice break.

Eating

Tried out Twisted Root burgers while I was in Frisco.  The burgers are all some fun twist and I love, love they assign a celebrity name to you after you order.  It was a fun atmosphere and a great burger!

Treasuring

The chance to spend time with my kids one on one.  Last week I had my monthly date night with Jordan and then spent some time at the game chatting with Riley through the bullpen fence of all things.  So many times as they were growing up I worried they were going to stop wanting to spend time with me.  I hate being wrong but this is one time when I’m so, so glad that I was! They are both just so much more than I could have ever, ever hoped they would be.

Celebrating

The tale of two sets of best friends meeting up two years ago at a women’s conference while watching one of our favorite bloggers/writers, Melanie Shankle, speak.  We celebrated our friendaversary on Monday night with some wine and epic snake saving.

 Wearing

Gingham Top||Strappy Bralette (Similar)||Shorts||Sandals||Embroidered Clutch(Similar)||Earrings||Necklace||Fit Bit

I really cannot tell you guys how much I LOVE this combo!  I always struggle with button down tops because the medium fits well but doesn’t always want to button across the bust but moving up to a large is just too big everywhere else.  This strappy cami has been a game changer for me. My sister-in-law found several for me at a boutique but I’ve linked one very similar which comes in multiple colors.  I love the extra punch of fun it gives this outfit.  I grabbed the sandals during the BOGO 1/2 off sale at Target and I was pleasantly surprised at how much cuter they are in person and also the comfort level.  Pretty much in love with Target shoes right now!
