The Queen’s Chronicles – Fiesta, Friends, Fun

Welcome to the Queen’s Chronicles where I share a bit about what’s been going on in our lives lately!  We had such a great week celebrating the end of the dance year, Cinco de Mayo, lots of fun with friends and an afternoon fishing.

These girls almost always find a way to get together for a bit over the weekend.  When they were little it was a chore having them together as they were quite mischievous but now they are just so easy and fun.  I treated them to some fro-yo to end the weekend.

The weather has been so perfect in Texas and that means lots of meat on the grill.  I’m not complaining as Keith usually takes care of all the prep and cleanup when he grills.

Riley always keeps me laughing and this snap he sent was no exception.  He loves buying hideous shirts and he actually is now wearing this with the sleeves cut off.  SMH

It was recital week and we loved watching these two dance their hearts out on stage!  This was their jazz costume.

This girl is always up for a celebration!  We joined my friend Kelli and her family and some friends for a little Cinco de Mayo celebration and she decided we needed to bring the sombrero.

There were literally no other kids at this shindig but this girl didn’t miss a beat and there was no complaining.

Carly did manage to weasel her way into leaving the party with my friend Holly and headed for a sleepover with her bestie.  Holly is the “fun” mom and let them make slime which pretty much was the highlight of the weekend…maybe the year!  haha

Sunday was picture perfect and after church we decided to head out to the country for some fishing.  We are so lucky to have this little spot Keith’s uncle lets us visit.

Even Dutch was able to tag along and he is a pretty good trooper.  He only jumped out of the boat once after too much taunting from the fish.

This one won a kayak last summer in a raffle and he was happy to scoot off on his own.

So many different flowers to see in the country and it left me wishing I had brought my big camera along.

This girl is a teeny bit country….mostly city but she tolerates the country life for a good 2-3 hours before getting bored.

Of course it helps when the fish are biting!  I just love her smile!  We must have caught a good 10-15 bass (which we throw back) and we had 5 keeper crappie which made some yummy fish tacos for dinner.

These kinds of weekends we need more of for sure!  The weather has been so great here in Texas and I know it’s just a matter of time before the heat and humidity arrives so we are trying to soak it up.
