The Queen’s Chronicles – Aggie Football

·
I love looking back over weeks like this….so much fun!
The week started off with a big 24th birthday for my sweet Jordan.  I still only feel 28 in my mind so how in the world my oldest has already turned 24 I do not know!!  I delivered flowers to her at the office first thing and it was great starting the day with her beautiful smile.
I really do need to get better with the pictures of our week….we had girl scouts and middle school football Monday night.  This is our first experience with Girl Scouts and Carly has been super excited.  I think we have been blessed with two great leaders who seem to really have things together.  The boys incurred their first loss on Monday and well we just don’t take pictures after a loss.
Jordan had dinner with her dad on Monday night and we planned to have dinner on Tuesday.   She actually requested my homemade lasagna {recipe here} instead of going out to dinner.  Both my Bigs have always loved my lasagna and it makes me super excited to think she wanted to have dinner at home instead of at a busy restaurant.  My mom showed up along with my in-laws and we had a nice dinner.
Wednesday started with Carly receiving a Golden Gator award for her Outstanding Effort the first six weeks of school.  She was so surprised when her name was called!  She really loves school and I am so thankful she continues to be blessed with amazing teachers.  It’s good to be a Gator!
Wednesday night the moon was full and as I took Dutch out for a potty break I saw it peaking through the trees.  This just so looks like an October moon to me so I had to try and capture it.
On Thursday morning we headed to the clinic for Carly’s annual well check.  Shamefully I think we skipped last year.  After a height, weight and blood pressure check, we waited and waited some more and Carly quickly reminded me that she is NOT a patient person.  Hmm…not sure where she gets that from.
After work I rushed to grab the kids and have Dillon to his pitching lesson by 6.  We have waited until 12 or 6th grade with both the boys before starting any private lessons.   Riley and Dillon have very different personalities so I have been curious what Dillon’s pitching style would be like.  He has really surprised me and I have been really shocked to see so many similarities as he works through the motions.  I like hearing the interaction between him and his coach Mark as he is definitely the perfect fit for Dillon.
Since bringing home Dutch to our family, I have gone home just about every day for lunch to let him out and spend a little time playing.  Some days it is really not very convenient but he is such a cutie pie and it has been somewhat of a stress reliever to take the break in the middle of the day.  Friday I had a little snuggle time with him while I finished putting sheets in the wash in anticipation of house guests for the weekend.
We sat on the couch watching a new Jessie…..the highly anticipate wedding episode….and yes I’m talking about Disney channel.  I am hopelessly addicted to Disney sitcoms and often find that the only thing I’ve actually watched all week has been a Disney show with the kids.  This happened right beside me and I realized this is not such a bad place to be on a Friday night!
Saturday we made the “walking tacos” I blogged about here.  We actually ate at home before heading to campus for a little tailgating.
I met my friend Lisa the summer I moved to College Station and we have been friends ever since.  We only see each other once every couple of years and we actually don’t talk on the phone much in between but we always pick up just where we left off.  Don’t you love friends like that?
We made an attempt at a family tailgate shot…this crew makes it really difficult to actually get a decent picture.
You have to love a good night game at Kyle Field and while we would have liked to have seen a different outcome you cannot beat the excitement of sitting amongst approximately 110,000 other screaming Aggies.  The kids always have so much fun.
It is pretty special too when your Aunt works in the ticket office which gives you special access to the “behind the scenes” action of Kyle Field.  Plus she always brings fun treats!
After a busy Saturday we really spent Sunday having a lazy day at home.  We played board games and took Dutch on a long walk!  Can you tell who was excited about winning?
Keith grilled bacon wrapped shrimp for dinner which was so good.  We cleaned up the kitchen and headed to bed by 8:30!
Our week at a glance….the kids are out of school today and a cold front is on the way.  Can’t wait to see what the coming week holds!
