June Goals

·
It’s here y’all….summer is here!  By the time May arrives my littles are restless and I’m over the schedules (and who am I kidding there hasn’t been a schedule since like November) and I just NEED summer!  I need time to not have to worry about making sure the kids do their homework, leisurely mornings getting ready for work with no drop offs!  I NEED sunshine and warmth and just time to sit on the patio at night and be.   It’s summer and I am super exited!
Before we hit my June goals let’s see what May held.

Teacher Appreciation

It has been my “thing” for the past 3 years to take lunch to my kids teachers the week of Teacher Appreciation.  I set up a order with Jason’s Deli and send a link to the teachers so they are able to place their order and all I have to do is pick it up and deliver to the school.  They really seem to love it and it is an easy way for me to show some appreciation without having to find a lot of time in my schedule.  We also appreciated teachers and the office staff with Sonic gift cards for the last day of school.  Easy!

Read a book and complete devotional

This is where you would hear one of those big buzzers if this was a game show because I did not read a darn thing.  I started the Made to Crave devotional and I started Bossypants but did not finish either.  I need some accountability with bible study so I have joined a group starting in June and hopefully that will help me stay accountable.

Send personal notes to a few special moms

I wish I could have blessed every single hard working mom I know!  I managed to mail around 10 cards to friends and family to let them know I was thinking about them at Mother’s day.  I seriously loved sending these and knowing that someone’s day may have been a bit brighter when they opened the mail!

Enjoy our crazy!

I did…I really did enjoy the crazy.  We were all over the place in May and I really tried to find some joy in every situation.

June Goals

Relax

For a lot of people this is easy but for me it is honestly harder to relax than it is to be constantly doing something.  I want to try and do more relaxing in June.  We had a day at the lake in May and it was so much fun and I really enjoyed being able to just chill with my family.  I want to put things aside and go to the pool and actually get IN the pool and enjoy it with the kids.  I want to get up on Saturday morning and just sit for hours and read.  I’m optimistic this is something I can do so we will see!

Make Memories

So often over the years I have been reminded that the things my kids really remember are the simple memories we make together.  We have taken some fun vacations but I really think when we sit and reminisce about the past it’s the ordinary fun they actually talk about.  I hope to have lots of these easy days when we are together as a family…my littles and my bigs…and we can make some new memories.

Plan a Vacation

It has been 6 years since we have gone away as a family for some vacation time.  We have all been away for some fun but not all 6 of us together and I really, really would like that to happen.  It may be impossible but I am going to do my best to plan something whether it will be over the summer is yet to be determined.

Trust in Him

Lots going on in my life right now that I don’t have any control over and many things that are just unknown.  I am typically not high anxiety and don’t find myself worrying about the future but this month I’m struggling already.  I’ve asked my prayer warrior friends to pray for me and I am already feeling more peaceful.  I know God has a perfect plan and that it isn’t always going to be an easy ride.  Sometimes I just wish I had a little peep…just a tiny, tiny peep….to see where I’m headed.
Summer is here!  June will go by quick I have no doubt and I am hoping to soak it all up.
