Hamburger Steak Made Easy

·
Simple Meals
We love eating at home and really try to do so often to keep our dining out dollars to a minimum. Thankfully my man is pretty simple.  Give him a little meat and potatoes and he’s a happy camper. Hamburger Steak is definitely a super easy go to meal when I need something hearty but quick.

I make 4 hamburger patties using 93% lean ground beef and add to a skillet to just quickly brown each side and then remove.  We love fresh mushrooms and onions with the hamburger steak so I slice these while browning the patties.

After removing the patties, I add a little EVOO to the skillet along with the mushrooms and onions and cook for 2 minutes just to soften a bit.

The patties are then popped back into the pan and a can of Golden Mushroom soup is spread on top.  I really think cream of mushroom would also work but this has seemed to be a favorite.

Cover and simmer for 20 mintues.

While I’m waiting (hey Holly) for the patties to savor, I toss some veggies with EVOO and some rosemary herb seasoning.  This night we had red potatoes, asparagus and broccoli.

These veggies were roasted at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes.

This night we also cut up a cantelope and added one of our new faves, Tajin seasoning.

Here is a quick look at the meat once it is ready!

I’m not sure this picture really does this meal justice.  It is totally one of our very favorites.  I would probably prefer “real” gravy but in a pinch this makes a really tasty sauce that doesn’t weigh you down.

I use the leftover veggies to make a super tasty salad the next day for lunch!  I would have never thought to add cold veggies to a salad before trying at a restaurant and it is so delish.
