Friday Favorites

With Carly Jo gone to my moms it has been super quiet around our house this week! Somehow I have managed to still feel like I need about 6 more hours in each day to actually finish anything. Still it is Friday and there is always something to be excited about on Friday right? Right!

Here are a few random things I’m excited about this week!

Bad Moms

Seriously friends, if you have not seen this movie yet move it up on your to do list! I seriously almost peed my pants laughing so hard. We are all bad moms and this movie puts a spin on it that will make you feel a little less guilty about it. Be sure to stay until the very end to see the little interviews which definitely had me laughing and tearing up.

Tweens

You may remember back in March when Holly and I took the girls to Fort Worth to celebrate her daughter Holden turning 11. Well, we will be traveling with TWEENS again on Sunday for another fun filled girls weekend to celebrate Carly Jo turning 11. Now, Carly’s birthday isn’t until September but this place we live called Aggieland takes on a whole new crazy and fitting in a weekend for a girls getaway isn’t easy. I’m pulling out Holly’s Tips for Traveling with Tweens and making sure I’m ready to leave on Sunday! This time in their lives just before the crazy teen years is so much fun and I’m working on soaking it up a little.

JW Marriott San Antonio

Holly is the trip planner and I am the lazy mom. Talking Carly into a birthday weekend at the JW Marriott means (hopefully) some mom down time as well. I plan on parking myself in a chair by the lazy river most of the time we are away while the girls have a blast. We have only stayed at this resort one other time in the winter so I was super excited to score a state rate and have a chance to head back during the summer. Don’t worry, I will make sure to venture out one afternoon to the Riverwalk and force the girls to eat some mexican food! Carly has also requested we grab breakfast at Bakery Lorraine at the Pearl and I think we can make that happen.

Back to School

It’s that time of year to get back to school and earlier this week I shared my Worst School Pictures! Next week will be all about planning and organizing and a little meal planning fun to make sure we are ready for the first day of school. Blogiversary

That’s right, this little space just celebrated 2 years of blogging on August 1st! I’m a little behind celebrating but you are going to want to stop back by on Monday to read a few of my blogging tips PLUS enter a great giveaway! Thanks to all of you who come back day after day to visit this little space.

I should say I am most excited to be picking up my Maxima from being detailed today!! Is there really anything better for a bad mom than a clean car? Y’all, it was so awful. I am a car girl and I love my Maxima and even with 107K miles I feel “cool” driving her. 🙂 So if you see a mom speeding down the highway with the radio blaring and the sunroof open (who am I kidding it’s August in Texas) it might be me!
