Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! This is going to be short and sweet with a few of my favorites this week. We have an exciting weekend of Aggie football (BTHObama) and birthday celebrations. My favorite big boy will be arriving at the airport around noon today as he officially begins his first offseason in the “real world”. His birthday is Sunday so I’m hoping that means I will have at least one dinner over the next few days with all my babies in one place and that is definitely one of my favorites!

Girlfriends

Aren’t girlfriends the best? I feel so lucky to have so many fun and supportive women in my life and last night was one of those nights that refueled my soul. Holly & I are such great friends and we share a love for many things but we are also like polar opposites in some ways. Enter Katy & Cindy (The Merry Mommas check them out) and I feel like they are very similar combo. We were lucky enough to get each of them for an hour last night and then as if we needed to debrief we shared another hour of gabbing.

Chatbooks

I’m sure as is generally the case I am late to the game on this but not too long ago my blog friend Tanya over at The Other Side of the Road blogged about the Chatbooks she ordered and I thought I would give it a try. Y’all I am addicted. I am a serious scrapbooker and my kids love my handwritten notes in their “real” scrapbooks but truth is I am like a decade behind and may never catch up. One of the reasons I love to blog is to have some family record. Well instagram is somewhat of a little diary as well and with Chatbooks you can easily print your instagram pictures with or without your words. My kids love, love, love when these show up! I also love that you can create books pulled from a hashtag so I am also thinking I need to have one book just using my hashtag #thequeenscloset2015 so I can refer back to all the outfit combos I’ve pulled together! Birthday Gifts

It is my birthday month so of course I’ve been trying to decide what little treat I might want to pick out! This purse from Nieman Marcus Last Call is on sale and I really hope when it arrives on my porch it is as cute as it looked online. There was a similar one at three times the price but the $38 was speaking to me. I’ll keep you posted.

Plaid

I love plaid and have been finding so many ways to wear it thanks to a few Instagram style challenges. This scarf from Old Navy has been such a winner.

Who knew you could combine plaid and polka dots or plaid and camo? I am so not an outside the box thinker so having some parameters when picking my outfits has helped so much! Plus here in Texas when we are still wearing shorts, having a cute fall scarf at least makes it feel like fall.
