What’s Up Wednesday – 07.27.22

What’s up Wednesday! Today I’m linking up with ShaySheaffer.  You can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun.  I’m also linking up with Amy for Style on the Go!

Let’s go…..

What We’re Eating

Still working on counting my macros and if you think that means skimping on food it does not! I’ve been alternating between a 6 week “shred” and 4 week maintenance cycle since January and I feel so good. My sleep is on track, I’m less stressed and I’ve dropped fat around my middle which was definitely a goal. Here are a few of my meals lately that I love! These make it look more low carb but believe me, I’m getting plenty of carbs and finding a way to make my macros balance while still enjoying treats this summer.

Easy Meals

What I’m Reminiscing About

Time is a thief y’all. I can’t believe how much my little family has changed in what seems like a blink! Love seeing my timehops each day.

What I’m Loving

Being married to this guy! Marriage is tough and some years are harder than others but currently we are in a real sweet spot and I’m soaking it up. He makes me laugh and I don’t know what I would do without his constant support.

What We’ve Been Up To

We spent a long weekend in Fort Worth and were able to take Haisley to the zoo. It was so fun to experience through her sweet little eyes. Riley was playing ball not far from Fort Worth so we got to cheer him on in Texas! Definitely missing him.

Playdates with this cutie are definitely one of my favorite things on the earth. Headed to see her tonight and I can’t wait.

Took my mom to see the Elvis movie which she really enjoyed! For those of you who don’t know, this is my half sister Allison. My mom gave her up for adoption but she has been in our lives for almost 30 years. It has always been her dream to have both her moms together and we made that happen! She was on cloud nine.

We also headed for a long weekend at Canyon Lake with most of my crew! Carly also brought 2 friends and Dillon brought his girlfriend so it was a full house but we mised Riley, Taylor and Haisley! We rented a pontoon one day, floated the Comal and just hung out. It was my first time planning a lake getaway but I don’t think it will be the last. So relaxing.

What I’m Working On

Getting in at least 10k steps per day. It seems like an easy task but when you work at a desk every day it takes intention! I’ve successfully hit the goal for the last 17 days and in this Texas heat it has meant early mornings or really late nights but I’m getting it done. There is an oura ring on the line that is motivating me in a little challenge but I’m not sad about how it’s made me feel.

What I’m Watching/Reading

Reading Lately #bookreview #goodreads

Yesterday I posted my July book review and these were all wins! I just started Finlay Donavan is Killing It.

What I’m Listening To

Learning more about my hormones during peri-menopause and now menopause has been really important to me. The effect they have had on my mental health, my sleep, my hair, the way my body functions was just so frustrating! Anytime I find a good podcast that talks about hormones I’m listening. I liked this episode from Jordan Lea Dooley on Why Minerals Matter. So many focus on hormones in younger years and fertility so I’m always interested when they also touch on menopause. Here are a few others I grab an episode from here and there: The Period Party and Happy Hormones. Trust me, your regular doctor is probably not going to solve any of your hormone issues or mineral deficiencies for you so you have to be an advocate for yourself!

What I’m Wearing

Athleticwear #nsale

Grabbed some new workout gear from the #Nsale which I do almost every year! These blue leggings are my faves of the two pair I purchased. I love that there was a matching top! I haven’t been brave enough to wear this without a tank on top but I felt great in this set. New shoes are always one of my top priorities and last year I bought this same style in two different designs. I was so happy to see they were back! They are so comfortable if you need arch support and I love that they slip on. These bike shorts were also a purchase I loved last year so I bought another pair in the blue. If you like bike shorts, these have an almost 5 star reveiw!

Office Style

Being able to wear all my clothes without feeling like I’m being cut in half at the waist has been fun. I’ve been loving wearing pieces from my closet for work.

What I’m Doing this Weekend

Heading to pick this girl up from camp! It’s always one of her fave weeks of the year so I can’t wait to hear all about it.

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Strutters

August means back to school and back to Friday night lights which means performances by the Strutters! I can’t wait to see this girl on the field in their new uniforms to kick off junior year!

That’s alot of what I’m up to….what’s up with you?
