Amazon Finds – Car Essentials

It’s the first Tuesday of the month which means it’s time to share Prime Purchases with my friend Tanya at The Other Side of the Road. Hop over to see what all her friends are purchasing this month. I’m sharing the Amazon finds car essentials I’ve picked up lately.

We recently took a 17 hour roadtrip to Grand Junction, Colorado and I really wanted to make the trip in a clean car. While I knew by the looks of it my car had not had a good detail in quite some time, I was still shocked at the final price that was seriously more than the rent on my first apartment. Ha! I was determined upon arriving back home to stay on top of keeping my car clean which led me to add a few car essentials to my Amazon prime finds.

Amazon Car Essentials #dogessentials

The first car essential I ordered from Amazon addressed the biggest culprit of my filthy car. A doggy car seat for Dutch was necessary to at least try to combat that dog hair that made it’s way into every signle nook and cranny. I love my dog but he is a shedding nightmare! While he only rides in the car once a week to his playcare date, I previously let him hop around the car without restraint. Not only was this creating a mess in my car, it honestly was not safe for him in case of an accident. This pup car seat has saved the day! I’m sure you can tell by his face he’s not necessarily a huge fan but he’s getting use to it. I do need to order him a harness as well as someone told me just attaching to a collar could end up being a choking hazard in an accident. This made me so feel like a first time mom!

One of my favorite things about having my car detailed is the smell it has when I pick it up! I’m a sucker for the smell of leather and so I grabbed this pack of air fresheners to try once the one from the car detailer ran out.

I’ve tried a few iphone gadgets for my car that attached to the air vent and none of them seemed to work too well. So far this car mount phone holder has been perfect. Whether it’s for directions or my daily Marco Polo visits with friends, I feel safer having the phone mounted safe and secure on the window. It adjusts in several different ways to make sure it is in just the right spot for viewing but not impeding my view while driving. Keith also gave it a thumbs up!

I actually ordered this car organizer for both Keith & Dillon last January because they both need some help with organization. Keith’s literallly sat in the garage for months before I finally decided it would be better served in my car! We used this organizer for all of our snacks and medical supplies on our road trip and it was perfect. Once we arrived at our destination, it was easy to carry inot our Air BNB for the week. It is also handy to hold all of my returns in an orderly fashion which has made me feel a little more organized and more efficient when I’m making the return rounds.

Keeping a few microfiber cloths in the car has also been helpful to keep on top of the dust and be readily available for any spills. You can always grab a big package of these at a reasonable price at Sams Club.

Lastly, I cannot tell you how many times my tote has fallen onto the floorboard when I’ve stopped quickly. I’m not sure it ever lands up right either! I grabbed these hooks to use to hang my bag on and think they will come in handy for other items such as a small umbrella as well.

In the past, I’ve tried lots of different little gadgets in the car and some just seemed too create more clutter. So far, I’m loving the simplicity of just a few items and I’ve been able to stay on top of keeping it clean with bi-weekly visits to the car wash. The wash we use has free vaccums as well as the pressurized air which really helps clean out the dust from all the nooks and helps me stay on top of any stray dog hairs. If you don’t have access to something like this, keeping a can of pressurized air on hand really makes a difference.
