It’s the first Tuesday of the month which means it is time for another Ageless Style Linkup! We are showing off a vacation look today and hope you will join us.
I picked up this dress last summer from Old Navy for the 4th of July. You just can’t go wrong in the heat with this lightweight fabric that barely touches the skin. I posted last year with a Little Miss and Me look. Similar dress in white here.
One thing that has really made a difference for me on vacation is finding a hat that is both fun and functional. I picked this one up years ago on Zulilly for like $3 and I have definitely gotten my moneys worth. Similar hat here.
A hat helps to shade my face but also gives me an extra day to go between washes and maximize my vacation hours. I always worried about wanting to take my hat off at some point and having “hat hair” but somewhere stumbled across the trick of reversing my part when first putting the hat on. Once I take it off and flip my hair back the other way I can usually get by without feeling like my hair is plastered to my head.
My second favorite vacation look would definitely include a pair of cutoffs and a simple top. We actually had no clue we would end up visiting a creek when we headed off for baseball this day but thankfully this look worked for both! My Fitbit is also a fun vacation accessory to see that I’m at least doing a little to combat the vacation calories!
I have found shorts in a 4″ to 5″ length seem to work best for me. Any longer and they make my legs look heavier and any shorter, well, nobody needs to see that! Similar styles here & here.
My converse were perfect for stomping around in the rocks and wading in the water a bit. They dried very quickly and served nicely as water shoes on the fly. I’ve loved these grey converse but am really thinking after two years I need to go ahead and upgrade them to white soon.
I cannot end without mentioning a backpack. I don’t know why I didn’t figure this out when I was younger but a backpack makes the perfect addition for vacation. This camera backpack from Epiphanie has definitely come in handy as it protects my camera and lenses with enough room for my keys, wallet and a few snacks. I love that it now comes in yellow. I also love this backpack camera insert from Jill-E. It would be nice to be able to choose any backpack style and have protection for the camera.
So what is your favorite vacation look?
