Friday Favorites

· · ·

Did this week seem like it had an extra day to anyone else?  Every single day I was having to remind myself what day it was but we made it and it’s finally Friday and Friday is my favorite!

We had a late night at the ballpark late last night so this will be short and sweet.  Here are a few of my favorites this week!

Opening Day!

Riley was assigned to the Buies Creek Astros in North Carolina and yesterday was opening day!   He came in to close in the 9th inning and fanned 3 batters for the save.  If you have been following along here, then you know how excited we were to see him look strong after last years unexpected season ending injury.  I’m dying to hop on a plane to North Carolina to see him live in action because it has been so very long!

Winning!

This kid was also on the mound last night for high school baseball.  He pitched 4 innings and got stronger as the game went on. The other team was very “spirited” and I loved seeing how their banter fired Dillon up instead of letting him get the banter in his head.  He seriously seemed to get stronger every inning and after striking out the last batter in the 4th inning I laughed as he gave the stare down to the opposing dugout as he ran off the field.  It’s funny to me to see this quiet, laid back kid get that competitive fire.

Shopping!

It seems like I always have this problem more as the seasons change!  I shared a few spring favorites from Old Navy yesterday and I also received a Stitch Fix on Friday I can hardly wait to show you guys.  Right now I’m really working on getting back into all my shorts but also need a new swimsuit (it’s been about 3 years) so I’ve been looking for one that might be flattering but still fashionable.  I’ve added these to my cart but have not pulled the trigger just yet!

Eating!

On Wednesday I shared how I’ve been waiting to get back on track with healthy living.  Lots of yummy yet clean and healthy food!  I made barbacoa from the Fed and Fit book and it was amazing!  She suggested eating it with jicama tortillas and I was like what the what?  After reading how to make them I knew there was no way I was spending that much time and figured I would either use corn tortillas or make lettuce wraps but we found the jicama tortillas already made in our HEB get fresh section.  Y’all, they were so good and only 8 (count them!) 8 calories!!  Game changer for sure and they didn’t break apart like corn tortillas sometimes do.

I really love Cassy Joy’s book because the focus is on clean and healthy living but also addresses real life and the fact that we are going to want a treat here and there.  I say her book is healthy living with a little grace! New Furniture!

We need new living room furniture something terrible.  Like there are seams held together by safety pins kind of terrible. Rounding up my husband to make a trip to the furniture store is like herding cats but this weekend Dillon actually has a game in The Woodlands and that just happens to be where I’ve found this couch!  I’m so hoping we make it by and Keith loves it as much as I do so I can cross this one off my project list.  Now, if I could just buy the entire room and have someone come hang the curtains that would be great!

So that is what’s up in our world!  Hope you all have a beautiful spring weekend!
