The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 31

·
This week my kids spent the entire week away at summer camp having the time of their lives while Keith & I pretty much just worked.  So instead of my daily pictures, this is going to be complete camp picture overload!
Summer Camp 2015
Last Sunday we joined two other families for our traditional pre-dropoff lunch at  The Gristmill.  If you are ever rolling through the New Braunfels area it is a must.
Summer Camp 2015
Our kids seriously look forward to this week all year long!
We always walk down to the river before heading to camp and this year the water was flowing so well thanks to all the rain earlier this year.  It really had me wishing Keith & I had packed our suits so we could have taken a quick float after dropoff!
Summer Camp 2015
A quick family photo before the boys head off to Camp Travis.  T Bar M splits camp once the kids have completed 7th grade but a shuttle was offered so the boys wanted to ride over instead of having us drive them.
It was bottom bunks for these girls this year but they were still right next to each other!  Happy Campers.
It is so fun that all the cabins at T Bar M are named after small towns in Texas!
So glad these girls are able to make these fun memories together!
Summer Camp 2015
The theme this summer is Take a Stand:  Stand on, stand for, stand against.  At pickup the directors talked a little more about this and encouraged everyone to think about what the impact could be if each of us did this in our homes, our workplace, our churches, etc.  What a change our country could see!
These boys just before they headed off to Camp Travis!
There are so many fun things for the kids to do at camp but the best thing is meeting new friends!
Each night is a different theme night and this was Night at the Sanctuary and while this was not exactly how I had envisioned the Cleopatra costume coming together my girl appears to be having a great time!
T Bar M is “sports” camp so each year the kids are able to choose a “specialty”.  Carly has chosen gymnastics/dance the first two years and this year she chose volleyball.  There is golf, swimming, baseball, football, soccer, basketball as well and after 5th & 6th grade the kids can choose “outdoor sports” where they are able to do archery, fishing and other outdoorsy stuff.
Clash of the Kilts theme night!
Mission Impossible night and Carly’s cabin placed 3rd in the challenge!
Meanwhile Dillon was at Camp Travis having the time of his life!
You name it they had fun doing it!  Horseback riding, a mini triathlon, a day on the lake….all the things that would make your summer awesome.

Of course there was also a whole lot of Jesus shared among new friends .
Pickup is always so much fun!  We wait on the field by our kids camp flag and they start the theme music and here they come running to find us.
Then we head over to their cabins and hear all about the schedule the girls had each day and how much fun they had.  They even made sure we all knew the girls had learned to clean the bathrooms…even toilets!
Each cabin has 3 counselors and each girl is assigned to a “Batters Box” group which is their daily devotional.  At pickup the counselor speaks about each girl and I love to see what characteristics they choose each year for my kids.  This year Carly’s coach, Brooke, chose imaginative and listener and she chose verses to associate with each.
We drove like crazy parents on a mission from New Braunfels to Spicewood, Texas to pick up the boys.  Wow…how would you like to have your bible study overlooking a lake each day.  As amazing as the camp is in New Braunfels this camp is just beautiful.  I love seeing the kids all come together as they sing the theme song one last time.
The cabins are not air conditioned at Camp Travis but Dillon actually said he was cold one night so he survived it!
Dillon had a great group of counselors and his devotional coach was an Aggie!  He chose the characteristics joyful and content for Dillon.
Happy to be reunited even though they are a little stinky!
Two moms totally proud of how these boys are growing up and opening their heart to Jesus! And one photobombing little sister!
Home sweet home!  I despise laundry but camp laundry has it’s own special aroma.
So glad to have my babies back home but so glad we are able to send them away for a week of fun and time away from distractions.
Have a great week!  Be sure to hop on over to my contact page to see where I’m linking up.
