What’s Up Wednesday March

Well the winds of March have successfully tuckered me out!  This month has been FULL to the brim of dance and baseball and housework and friends and did I mention baseball?  Today I’m linking up with ShayMel & Sheaffer for this months What’s Up Wednesday!  The questions are in pink so check it out and join the fun.  Also joining Jessi and Jenn for What’s Hap- “Pinning” Wednesday.  Plus, be sure to link up your favorite look with The Blended Blog!

What We’re Eating this Week

Well, if I’m being honest it has so far been whatever I could find to throw together in the fridge!  I did manage to order my groceries and pick them up on Monday evening but that’s as far as meal planning has gotten for us this week.  Hopefully some of the rest of  you will have some ideas on your list for the week that I can create over here!

This burger though was pretty darn delish!  We tried out Shake Shack this past weekend for the first time and I splurged on cheese y’all but I did remove one bun and shared these fries with my girl.  Still a splurge but it was a worthy one!

What I’m Reminiscing About

Bluebonnet pictures have been popping up in my Timehop all week long!  Look at these babies so many years ago!  I remember finding this field of bluebonnets and being so excited to grab some pictures.  This was real film friends!

What We’ve Been Up To

We started the month traveling to West Palm Beach for a little R&R on the beach and to watch Riley at Spring Training.  The sunshine was just what I needed to get my attitude back in check.

I had several items on the list for the 3 days I was off over spring break but the bathroom seems to be the only area that was completed!  Pulling everything out of the cabinets and tossing a full trash bag of things I didn’t need made a huge difference.  It only took a few additions I picked up at the Container Store and Target to reorganize and it has felt so good!  Check out the bathroom refresh for all the details!

Our spring break staycation was filled with a little shopping, visiting our new candy store, baseball and then a quick fishing trip!

Thanks goodness fishing isn’t just about catching fish because we didn’t catch a thing!

And then we took a little road trip with our besties!  Wanna know where?  You’ll have to come back tomorrow when I recap.

What I’m Dreading

TAXES!!  I put them off long enough and I think I need to dive in soon.  Blah.

What I’m Working On

I for serious sound like a darn broken record but I really, really am still working on our house.  We have one last bedroom (ours) and the master closet to paint and hopefully that will be happening next week.  Here is a look at our current bedroom.  I love the color on the walls but chose it when different furniture was in this room.  We lucked into this bed so it is staying and I really just need something lighter on the wall to make it more prominent.   The rest of the house  has recently been painted Revere Pewter but looks more grey for the most part in my house.   I’m really thinking of going even lighter in this room, similar to the white dove shown below.   If I do I’m debating painting only that big wall light and painting the remaining walls dark in something such as Barnwood.   Or I can just paint the room Revere Pewter like the rest of the house!  These kind of decisions take me too long!  I’m ready to overhaul this room but know I cannot decide on bedding or anything else until I paint.  So, if you want to help a girl out leave me your suggestion.

What I’m Excited About

Spring!  The longer days, the beautiful weather, and even the passing thunderstorms all make me so happy!  We drove to Houston on Tuesday and the bluebonnets were in full bloom and just beautiful.

What I’m Watching/Reading

Still over here watching NOTHING!  I haven’t watched TV since January.  I’m not a huge TV watcher anyway but I’ve really been on quite the hiatus.  This has led me to continue reading however!  You can see what I thought about Girl, Wash Your Face and another kindle unlimited read in my March Book Review!

What I’m Listening To

Y’all, I’m officially addicted to podcast!  I’ve found it’s easy to listen when I head out for a walk or when I’m doing chores around the house that don’t take much brain power. These Wireless Earphones have been game changers for me and for $20 they have been well worth it.

I’ve already talked to you guys about The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey but the latest interview with Marshawn Evans was Ah-MAZING!  I had never run across Marshawn before but holy moly she has a story and she is just gorgeous and funny and inspiring.  She has a new book, Believe Bigger: Discover the Path to Your Life Purpose, and you can bet it is officially on my reading list!

I also found two new podcasts this week and the first is The Going Scared podcast with Jessica Honegger.  I listened to her interview with Bob Goff and he had so much goodness to share, even though his laugh kind of drove me a little nuts.  LOL!  One big takeaway he shared in regards to the comparison trap is that God is up to different things in different people at different paces and God doesn’t compare what he creates!  How beautiful is that friends?

Lastly, I’m not sure how in the world I came across the Women’s Work podcast but I listened to an interview with Valerie Gordon who is a storytelling strategist.  I’m just so stinkin’ excited about all these women out there who aren’t afraid to take a chance on themselves.  She is basically a career coach but helps women use the elements from their story to lead them to the next stage of work.  I’m seriously wishing I could bring her in for all the women I know!

What I’m Wearing

I headed to a women’s leadership conference the first weekend in March and I shared some outfits I took along on the trip in this What I’m Wearing Lately post.

Similar Tee | Shorts | Sandals | Similar Crossbody

My sweet friend Holly picked up the Road Trip Besties tee before we headed out on our fun weekend!  I ended up wearing this tee with my fave utility pants but I’m sure we will find another excuse to road trip together so I can pull this look off.

Skirt | Sandals Similar | Floral Top Similar here and here

I am fitting back into so many things comfortably so it’s n fun pulling out some old favorites like this perfect spring skirt and the top from last years spring stitch fix!

White Jeans (similar) | Booties exact or dupe | Camo Clutch | Top (similar) | Earrings

I pulled this look together to wear to a concert we attended last week and I am LOVING it.  I love olive but always tend to think of it as a fall color.  Adding a pop of hot pink made me feel like it was spring ready.   Sadly this precious camo clutch is out of stock until May!

Top | Jeans

Another win this month has been these cuffed jeans.  They fit so perfectly and I love the frayed cuff. An oh what can I say about this shirt!!  I’ve been a J. Crew Factory button up kind of girl but this shirt has me changing my mind.  It definitely was pricier but worth every penny as the others have never layed well for me across the bust.  This one is soft and has enough movement to it to be flattering.

Ankle Pants | Peplum  Top | Blazer Similar Here and Here | Open Toe Booties

And lastly, one more work outfit!  I’m super glad I grabbed this peplum top as it is so soft and hangs just perfectly. I found it here for under $10 but sizes are super limited.   I loved pulling out these pastel pants too.

What I’m Doing this Weekend

Celebrating Jesus!  We will be hosting either brunch or lunch after Easter service and I really need to get on the ball to plan that!

What Else is New

We should find out today Riley’s new assignment for this years baseball season and we are on pins and needles!  Not really, but we are excited to learn if he will be close in Corpus Christi or heading to Fresno.

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Last dance convention and more baseball.  It’s going to be looking like a repeat around here but I’m going to be enjoying the weather that comes along with spring!

Favorite Easter Tradition

Now that the Easter Bunny passes us by we don’t really have any set traditions other than church and a family meal.  I do still love putting together a little Easter basket surprise so we’ll see if I can come up with something.
