The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 28

·
This was officially the first weekend that it truly felt like a Texas summer to me. I don’t know if I was just outside more or what but it was H-O-T.  Here is a little of what we have been up to this week!

Day #187

All you guys ever see are the “good” outfit pictures but I promise there are thousands that get trashed.  I thought you would get a kick out of these gems I found when I was looking through some pictures Dillon took for me last Monday.  For real…what in the world was I doing in that first picture??  It’s always entertaining when your teenager is the photographer!

Day #188

Carly Jo is a great little helper and loves to participate in making dinner.
She is a tad messy but that smile melts my heart so I let it slide.
These boys were off to Teen night at the local bowling alley.  Dillon’s friend Adrian moved to town last summer but we just got to know him the past few months.  He’s still not really sure about all this picture taking stuff.
Teen night for Dillon meant a special date for ice cream with our baby.  I can’t believe in a short 5 years she will be the last one at home!
Marble Slab chocolate devotion…..it’s a winner every time!
I totally cracked up at the chalkboard!

Day #189

The struggle is real folks!  So I dunked my phone in water and it was still working but had a piece of rice stuck in the charging port.  I took it to a repair shop where they removed the rice and suggested their “water service” so my phone was there all week before they finally told me it was not repairable.

Day #190

Do I even need to say anything else about this?  The sale opened to cardholders and let’s just say I’m done Christmas shopping for a couple of peeps and I will be rushing home all week to hide boxes see what goodies have arrived.  Be sure to see my picks here!

Day #191

Every afternoon this week Carly attended Creative Arts Camp at the First Methodist Church.  This camp is so much fun because in addition to all the other fun stuff they do they actually learn a musical which they perform on Friday night.  These are Carly’s big cousins who all live out of town but come to visit their Grammy for a week of fun!

Day #192

We had a fun day meeting Carly’s friend Addison at one of our local pools.  When my Bigs were little were were at the pool every weekend but my Littles just haven’t had the same desire to go or maybe we just got much busier.  It was a fun day in the sun.

Day #193

We enjoyed breakfast at our favorite Sunday place, Ozona, before heading to church.
Then it was time for me to hit the grocery store!  My friend Holly is hosting a weekly Summer of Service Challenge and this week her challenge was to give water to someone working outdoors.  While at HEB I grabbed 4 bottled waters while checking out and tracked down the lot attendants.  Such an easy thing to do that brought a sweet smile to someone on a hot day.   Her new challenge for this coming week is performing a random act of kindness…she would love for you to spread some love!
Most Sundays we grill!  It is one of our favorite things to do and today was amazing.  Keith grilled up bacon wrapped shrimp and filets that were so tender you only needed a fork.  Yum!  Bonus there are leftovers!
And I whipped up some homemade Butter Finger ice cream in the Cuisanart Ice Cream maker.
We have this Cuisinart ICE-21 Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker and I made this ice cream using the vanilla recipe that came with it and just added some crushed butterfingers.  I was inspired by Laura who made this in her ice cream maker last week!
I sadly now have a phone again but it’s Keith’s cracked up old 4s…..could you deliver some cheese for me to have with my whine?!!  This is a lesson for me I am fully aware but I’m hating it.   I am too darn tied to that sucker.
Hope you all have a great week!
